"Care Today - Character Tomorrow"
On November 3, 1941, 100 representative organizations from nine towns in Mississippi and Arkansas united to form the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries. Over 70 years later, Junior Auxiliary of Meridian continues to address pressing educational, health and social needs of children in our community.
As such, "Junior Auxiliary represents a serious endeavor on the part of women to be active and constructive community participants and to assume leadership roles in meeting community needs. Junior Auxiliary provide the member with the opportunity to serve and to be a vital part of the community. The objectives of the Association are to unite in one body all Junior Auxiliary Chapters and members to promote National and individual Chapter purposes; to encourage members to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children; to cooperate with other Charitable 501 (c) (3) organizations.”
Our membership consists of women who are energetic, caring and committed to serving the children of Lauderdale County through a variety of projects. We currently provide financial and volunteer assistance to 8 diverse service projects. Each active member dedicates a minimum of 65 hours per year to these endeavors.
